Microscopic Series Ant Nest - Palangan

We use hard composite gypsum. After detailed testing, the hardness of our gypsum is 45~50D, while the hardness of other brand gypsum is 20~30D. The most obvious difference between our gypsum and other brand gypsum is that our nests will not be chewed by the ants after a long period of time, while other brand gypsum nests will be chewed by the ants and become pitted.

Since the design is not airtight, the water evaporates faster and needs to be added weekly, the humidity level varies a lot and the feeding effect is not as good as that of the enclosed Macaron series ant nests. However, this problem can be solved by installing our external water tower into the nesting chamber.
Besides, the nests are not movable and removable, so it is not easy to clean them when they are reused.

After the ants have moved out of the nest, you can rinse the nest with water and a discarded toothbrush to clean the moldy and dirty areas, and leave it to dry under the sun (shade drying is also acceptable), then you can refill the water again and use it again.

Ant excreta, prey remains, etc. will cause moldy nests, which is unavoidable in the process of keeping ants. However, do not worry, as healthy ants will disinfect their nests and clean themselves properly, so moldy nests will not have any negative impact on healthy ants.
We can inhibit or minimize the moldy condition by lowering the amount of water added to the nest, letting it dry out a bit, cleaning the feeding area and avoiding feeding live animals.
